After eight years, an American will be part of the starting field this year. It will be Sargeant, whom Williams decided to give a chance after last year’s successful season in F2, where he finished fourth. His story could be called the American dream. After finishing third in F3 in 2020, he didn’t have the money to move to F2, and it looked like he would have to retire to sports cars. But he eventually agreed to continue in F3 and impressed Williams with his performances, who took him under their wing and eventually got him to F1.
